I have read many research papers that say that the redox potential can be controlled to impact overall particle size. But all of these make a general statement like "a large (redox potential) value causes a more rapid supersaturation buildup and leads to the formation of a larger number of nuclei which produces smaller final particles." I am confused as to how we can quantify what these articles mean when they say "smaller particles." Does it mean nanoparticles? Is there a threshold where over a certain redox potential, one gets nano particles and below it, one can achieve micron size. How can we quantify the particle size based on redox potential?
