I am struggling with where to start with the data. I have extracted the data from each study which includes mean mercury concentration, sample size, species, SD( however not all studies gave it)
I want to analyse the means across different species and across different tissues types and create box plots showing mean mercury and different species at the bottom . I am unsure what to use for this as was considering meta mean or meta for but haven't used either before. Or any other suggestions are welcome .
If you have the means, SD, and sample sizes, you can calculate the standardized mean difference (SMD) or use the raw mean difference if you're comparing groups directly.
Use metacont for conduction the meta-analysis then you can stratify your meta-analysis by species or tissue types using the subset function or by using grouping factors in your model. If you want to analyze the effects of species and tissue types as moderators.
After conducting the meta-analysis, you can create box plots showing the distribution of mercury concentration across different species and tissue types.
