Dear colleagues, in my study, I seek to investigate if there's a relationship between gender and the preferred reactions in social media (like, love, care....). What is the best statistical test to use (I'm thinking of t-test and chi-square)??
Relationship and association is basically measured through correlation study, association through regression and chisquare in case non metric data is there. So , it will depend upon the variables under hypothesis and type of data utilised so far.
I have counted the instances of reactions used by male and female users in response to 1006 posts. Example of numbers I got:
Male/ like reaction = 135 ; love reaction= 161
Female/ like reaction = 90; love reaction= 259
This data is metric?
Pearson's coefficient is a common and reliable way to measure correlation. I think you should consider it.
