I am completing a quality improvement project where I tested participants PHQ9, SDS, and WHO5 weekly over eight weeks. There are two groups (intervention & TAU). I am SPSS-phobic and not very good at statistics and am simply lost at what kind of tests to run in SPSS. I would like to compare the weekly group (A/B) survey means (PHQ, SDS, WHO) over the 8 week implementation period. I tried a multivariate ANOVA and am not sure what I'm looking at with the results. Honestly, I just need to create three graphs showing the mean change over 8 weeks for each individual survey, along with the statistical significance for my results. I appreciate any help anyone is willing to give.
Bethanie Simmons-Becil, if you are SPSS- and stats-phobic, it's a bit difficult knowing how to coax you into territory that terrifies you. Nevertheless, I suspect that ANCOVA is probably the best analysis to aim for, but I'm not sure how you can use that to analyse each timepoint.
Certainly, it would work if you're simply trying to indicate a difference from baseline to Week 8. A lot depends on how sophisticated you want, or are able, to be.
Maybe you could create a figure showing the means for each week on each of your variables (the means are easy to acquire from SPSS), and do a separate figure for each of your three variables from baseline to Week 8.
The beauty of ANCOVA is that it takes into account whether there are differences at baseline that should be taken into account.
There are some good YouTube presentations about ANCOVA but, because some of them are a little bit misleading in places, you need to watch several of them to work out what the good oil is.
Some people might recommend you do something with structural equation modeling, but that might frighten the socks off you well and truly.

Thank you so much! I ended up running an Multivariate with Repeated Measures. Gave me the graphs I wanted with at least a mostly understandable P value. I honestly didn't understand many of the other values that returned, and am planning to do a little research and you-tubing to better figure out those numbers and how to explain them. Get your hands on the book by Heck, Thomas & Tabata (2013) and pay attention especially to chapters 5 and 6.
