Greetings,

I am working on proteo-metabolomics response of chickpea roots. I will do field experiment. I am confused about sampling of chickpea roots and transportation to laboratory, without protein degradation and protein change after pulling out plant from the soil. Therefore, it is to ask how to preserve root samples using some quenching agent to quench proteins and metabolites. I have thought to preserve the whole intact plant (after cleaning/washing roots) at -20 degrees celcius, packed in ziplock bags. If this is fine, then how long I could keep the plant?
