Of course I don't know the viscosity of your solution, but if it allows for spin coating, that would probably be the first method of choice.

The distribution coefficient of octadecylsilane between octanol and water is LogP=6. Look at the table and choose the right solvent for you. Due to the large hydrocarbon group, it is more soluble in octanol than in water.
