Hello!

I want to know how to clean rodents intestine, especially large intestine where the dregs are more consistent and not easy to evacuate. I usually clean the intestinal lumen in other species, like chicks, injecting PBS or formaldehyde into the lumen. But, in this case, the intestines samples (e.g. from chinchilla) are already fixed and we think that the hard feces will damage the mucosa.

We want to use the tissue for histology observations, so we need to conserve intact the mucosa, and it would be preferable to avoid longitudinal cut so we can obtain circular sections.

Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks in advance!
