I'm currently with organometallic compounds which includes Zr,Ti,Hf in the center. But, the molecules are air and moisture sensitive. So I cannot determine structure of the molecule. I have my NMR results but that is not enough for proving metal presence. Especially mass rates of elements are important for us.
What kind of analysis can I use?
you need single-crystal X-ray diffraction and the use of standard Schlenk techniques for the manipulation of air and moisture sensitive compounds. Solvents must be dried according to standard procedures and used freshly distilled, or alternatively use a solvent purification system.
Normal you can measure these compounds by MS techniques, depends on the instrument available also measurements with the exclusion of moisture and air are possbile.
How about measuring the NMR spectras of the metals?
To characterize organometallic compounds one should analyse for elemental analysis ,FT IR, NMR, UV-Vis, and Single crystal X-ray analysis.
To characterize organometallic compounds various spectroscopic techniques including the 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and IR, and the X-ray and the neutron diffraction studies are considered best.
UV-visible spectroscopy can be a help in obtaining information on the electronic structure.
To determine qualitatively your's elements of interest, any elemental analysis methods or technique depending on the facilities available will be helpful.
You can identified the organometallic compounds formation by using HRMS or LCMS data analysis

In general one can say that organometallic compounds can be characterized by the same methods as organic compounds. It just has to be taken into account that many organometallic compounds are air-sensitive (and, to a lesser extent, moisture-sensitive). Thus you should be equipped to prepare your samples e.g. inside a dry-box. The usual set of analytical and spectroscopic methods to fully characterize organometallic compounds includes elemental analysis, IR and NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
