In my Abaqus model, I am considering the dynamic loading (say 40s) in explicit analyses where the dynamic loading steps 'have to' be equal to 0.01 s.
In abaqus implicit analyses we can easily adjust the dynamic loading's time increments in step settings.However, I am facing big increments in explicit analyses for the same problem (bigger than 0.01 s increments for loading). Even after changing the " Max.time increment Value:0.01", I am observing that the model skips some loading points having loading step bigger than 0.01 s (the loading step is 0.25 s).
I am a bit aware that mesh size and mass scaling effects the time step in explicit analyses, however changing the mesh size is not really preferred.
Please let me know how can I adjust my dynamic loading step equally to 0..01 s. Thanks.

As you already knew, you can use either fixed or automatic time increment. In the case of automatic, you can define a maximum value for time increment and let the Abaqus to calculate a stable time increment for your problem.

ANSWER: So this appears to be a simple problem and the solution is what mainly Soheil wrote. I would say as far as I see in IMPLICIT analyses you need only to add your step increments in the "step module" and then you are good ; however, in EXPLICIT analyses to have smaller steps you have to adjust your field/history output request as well, means you should adjust your field/history output request to be the same as the increment of interest.
There are also some rules of thumb for the dimensions of your elements that sometimes may significantly affect your model increments and run time, depending on the problem you are trying to solve.
