I am wondering how to approximately calculate the upwelling velocity around the shelf break? Do we have any theoretical equations to quantify this physical parameters? If there are some equations to calculate, can they consider the river plume's influence on the upwelling velocity or direction?
The question interested me, so I searched internet on ocean upwelling velocity and found some articles and complex equations. I am sometimes surprised on what is on the internet. Try these. There are many more.. I have Google too, and several articles have price. These were among the first that came up on Google. I am assuming you have them, but if not, the search engine must be different here. It may be difficult to find something that exactly meets your questions, and really these are above my skill set, but I can see how the subject might be interesting in a variety of ways.
