Al-6063 alloy is used as a matrix material. Copper net was prepared by using Continuous copper fibre and then reinforced in the matrix. The specimen was prepared by lost foam framed casting technique in the case of sand casting process. For this case, how to calculate the theoretical density of the Cu reinforced Al matrix composite and also by practically?
I would calculate it by using the Rule of Mixtures;
rho=rho(Cu)*f(Cu)+rho(6063)*(1-f(Cu))
where rho is the density and f is the volumetric fraction of each component.
Rule of mixture is used for calculating theoretical density as described in previous answer thread whereas practical density can be estimated by Archimedes principle.

Rule-of-Mixtures (ROM) method can be used to calculate the density of the composite provided you know/can calculate the volume fraction of the matrix and the fiber.
While the density can be measured experimentally using the Archimedes' method.
And correlations can be drawn.
