Hi everyone,

Iam performing a pushover analysis on historic masonry structure and i would like to be sure that the lateral seismic force calculation is correct.

1- I calculated the lateral seismic force (Fi) basing on Eurocode 8 recommendation (Annex B) which is equal to Fi=mi*∅i (mi: is the mass in the i-th storey; ∅i: is the normalized dispalcement in such a way that ∅n= 1, where n is the control node in the roof level.

Consequently, we consider Fn=mn

The total mass (mn), volume (V) and height (h) of my building obtained from Abaqus (Queryinformation) respectively are:

Fn=mn= 2.43e+07 N, V= 1.22e+012 mm3, h=14930 mm.

2- I inserted in abaqus the lateral force as volumic distribution (Fn= 1.99e-05 N/mm3) using gravity load option and respecting separatly X and Y direction.

3- In order to obtain an increasing lateral loading, i determined the linear distribution function: F(z)= 1.33e-9*Z+1.99e-5 (Z: the vertical axis).

The scheme distribution seems correct but i have a dubt about the inserted values.

My second question, Which values please can i used for the Concrete Damaged plasticity for a masonry material (terracotta brick+ lime mortar) ?

I thank you in advance for your availability and responses.
