I am looking for some references and/or experimental data for a system when steam enters into a cylindrical pipe with a very low mass flow rate and condenses in it due to heat transfer with outside. Inside of the pipe can be considered as forced convection whereas the outside is cooled by air via natural convection. I would like to check the outside heat transfer coefficient and related parameters.

The heat transfer q between the external surface of a pipe of diameter D and with the temperature Ts to the ambient air with the temperature ta by free convection, is calculated with the equation: q = Ah(Ts - ta)
A, is the external surface of the pipe and h the convection heat transfer coefficient that depends on air conductivity , Nusselt number and pipe diameter.

Hi Erol. Empirical correlations for the average Nusselt number for natural convection over the pipe surfaces can be used. I think it is applicable for your case because the correlations are dimensionless.
