I have convergence plot of cl. if you know how to calculate FFT? please provide information. Thanks in advance. you can see my cl v/s time diagram.
In fluent,
Go to Plots>FFT
In y-axis function, select option MAGNITUDE
In x-axis function, select STROUHAL number
click on LOAD INPUT FILE,
by default the directory will be open, change the FILES OF TYPE option from INPUT SIGNAL FILES to ALL FILES,
then select Cl files (which is saved as cl-1-history by default)
Now simply click on PLOT FFT....

but can you tell me how to get that point which are plotted as strouhal number?
After plotting the graph..there is an option WRITE FFT TO FILE...check this option and then click WRITE FFT... and saved it... you can open the saved file in notepad...and copy all the data in excel.. In excel you can clearly see the peak value,,,,
2. Another way to do this..
After ploting the graph, you will see the peak..it will be in between 0.1-0.2 (in majority of cases)...
click on AXES, uncheck the AUTORANGE and in RANGE place, type 0.1 in minimum and 0.2 in maximum... then APPLY and close...
Now PLOT FFT....
you can futher narrow the range of maximum and minimum axes..then it will be more clear to see the peak value.
