Hi, does anyone have a good reference for cost calculation formula of plastics extrusion? I looked all day and I didn't find a single ref with comprehensive look on the matter. For injection molding there were a ton of references.
The processing costs depend on many factors. Very important is, hpw sofisticated technology is empúloyed, what is a degree of automatization, what is the efficiency of the process, what is energy consumtion etc. etc.
It is clear, taht it is not possible to naswer your general question, because there is not a general solution.

Thank you, surely that is the case. But I think calculations can be done as long as some general conditions are laid out. Therefore the parameters change from technology used but the basic formulae should be the same.
YES, you are right. Basic formulae are the same. But you have to divide the process step ba step and evaluate each of them.
