I am working in carbon dots. I am interested to calculate the extent of defect for my carbon dot. I have a big confusion on the the calculation of ID/IG ratio. Is the ID/IG ratio is the ratio between the peak intensity of D peak to that of G peak or it is the ratio between the integrated area of D peak to that of G peak? By reading literature, I came to know that both the methods are adopted by researchers. However, I didn't get the answer at what circumstance one should take peak intensity prior to integrated area and vice versa.

For my material, the ID/IG ratio calculated from integrated area is about 2 whereas that is calculated from peak intensities is about 0.75! What value should I take and what is the logic behind it.

Please somebody help me on this regard.

Thank you...
