I'm modelling a geocell in plaxis 2D. Geocell can be modelled as a composite soil layer with improved strength parameters. In order to do so, a dimensionless number is required to calculate the improved young's modulus with geocell reinforcement. This method is known as ECA (Equivalent composite approach).
This dimensionless number is calculated from the triaxial test data and was propsed by Duncan-chang.
Anyone familiar with this method, please share how to do it.

Yang Zhao Thank you sir, I do have these articles with me. But the method of calculating dimensionless number was not mentioned properly in those. It was calculated experimentally, and I'm curious to learn about it.
Maybe you can model model geocell in 3D numerical analysis with PLAXIS 3D.
Because, in two-dimensional numerical analysis, it is very difficult to model the three-dimensional honeycomb geometry of geocell; hence, the geocell-soil compositehas been modelled as a separate layer box with improved strength and stiffness parameters (quivalent composite approach(ECA)). It was determined that ECA overestimates the bearing capacity of embankments of foundations, which are reinforced by geocells. Although the geocell is modelled as a separate layer box, the stresses are concentrated at the corner edge of the separate layer box. In fact, the stresses are distributed uniformly around the geocell (Hegde and Sitharam2015).
