Is it possible to calculate the carrying capacity K of an environment based on the composition of the environment, or is K an empirical parameter?

For instance, if I consider the environment as a nutrient medium, can I estimate K? That is: if I have 100 mL of Luria-Bertani broth, the environment will contain:

Tryptone 1 g Yeast Extract 0.5 g NaCl 1 g

Assuming that tryptone is the source of carbon and, therefore, the limiting element, can I estimate the carrying capacity?
