I have the XPS spectrum of the Dysprosium element for both high energy and low energy regions. I would like to know if Dysprosium has an oxidation state of Dy2+. Is there any way to calculate the binding energy of different oxidation states of Dysprosium theoretically (except DFT method) so that I can distinguish it in my spectrum among other signals? Does Dy2+ even exist naturally? if yes, would you please recommend me some potential references with their XPS results in it?
