I am interested to look at the association between two variables (cross-sectional study design). I have one independent variable in a categorical scale and one dependent variable in a continuous scale. However, dependent variable has several domain, each in a continuous scale. I also intend to check the association between an independent variable and each domain of dependent variable including the overall measure of dependent variable.
How should I calculate the sample size in this case?

This is a fundamental issue in research that need to be addressed before jumping in to further. In a cross sectional (I assume this is a survey research it is not clear) study, 384 is the minimum sample size considering everything standard. Hi Monkia, sample size is determined by the study design and the expected prevalence of the problem you intend to measure. If you are interested in two outcomes, then in the formula, insert the lesser prevalence so you can yield a large enough sample size.
First of all be clear, how would you like to see your dependent variable, continuous, categorical or dichotomous. After, that you can choose the statistical analysis accordingly.
