I have to extract genomic DNA from leaves of around 750 soybean RILs. I am afraid of possible contamination of DNA through gloves or scissors while collecting the leaf samples. I would be grateful if somebody suggests effective measures to prevent the DNA contamination of different genotypes during leaf sampling.

In order to avoid such a contamination, I used to work on grains, it is easier, faster (no need to grow plants), no problems with chlorophyl contamination (or grow them in dark). So working on DNA this would be my choice. In case you suppose to extract also RNA or fractions of nucleic acids (nuclear, mt or plastid) you should use seedlings.
It would be nice if you follow same way it is done in biomedical research sampling of blood from different samples - single use consumables. besides, I think you should take into account the way you sample, e.g. three leaves from a plant or one leaf from several plants, as well as, the way you will analyze the DNA - separate or bulk leaf extraction etc. I would follow extensive way collecting three leaves from each plant, three plants from each RIL (how will you select the plants randomly?), so altogether 3x3x750 samples collected, but you must have enough consumables and reagents to extract and analyze the quality of extracted NA.
