We are starting up a new project where it would be highly relevant to attach specific bacteria to the surface of micro-spheres/beads of e.g. alginate. However, literature and potential collaborators seem to be very scarce. I'm therefore very curious whether anyone could point us in the direction of relevant literature, techniques or (even better) potential collaborators.

You can attach specific bacteria to the surface of micro-spheres/beads of e.g. alginate by forming bacterial biofilm in vitro. As you known bacterial biofilm is the formation of sticky adhesion layer on the surface of animate or inanimate objects. Also, recently, in nanotechnology, there are several strategies to make adhesion and attach of bacteria to the surface of beads.
