Am working on femur bone biomechanics.I do have assigned the material properties to the geometry model generated from the CT data in mimics. But couldn't able to do the same for external meshed body(Means the same geometry after initiating the fracture, virtual surgery with implants in some other software). I just want assign the materials of femur for surgery models. Please let me know with possible solution.
did you notice alerts or comments while you importing the assembly to mimics ?
While importing I didn't noticed any comments, but when I opened materials assignment window, I've seen this warning-
The selected mesh exceeds the image dimensions. Only the homogeneous assignment method is possible.
The generated model's coordinates and dimensions not been changed either during the virtual surgery or in meshing.
You might use Abaqus for analysis with materials by importing 3D model from MIMICS.
Emre Sengul Thank You so much sir. Abaqus is working good. It is accepting the imported mesh for materials assignment. And can you please tell where to export these assigned materials in Abaqus. Means importing .inp file from mimics to abaqus creating a separate part(with materials) in model. Instead of this, how to add only materials to already meshed parts in the abaqus model either through commands or script.
Have you solved this problem? I met the same problem and I haven't found ways to solve it
