Firstly you have to fix your sample surface so that you are able to the see the strong reflection from the surface corresponding to the orientation of the crystal surface. In a way the 2heta angle is fixed. Then you should have the facility in your XRD system to rock the sample , and collect the intensity data, if all the crystallites are well oriented in the same direction, when you plot you will get a sharp curve. or else if the crystallites are very slightly disoriented you will see a diffused peak. Rocking curve meaurements can be done on Brucker systems, provided you machine has this facility.

Thanks a lot K. Sreenivas . Sir, I am working with single-crystal perovskites. one of the reviewers asked me to do the X-ray rocking curve to verify the quality of the crystal we synthesized. I have done single-crystal XRD from IIT madras. But they said that the X-ray rocking curve facility is not there. Kindly suggest me an institution where I can do this X-Ray rocking study.
