I am using secondary data (ROA, Total assets, Firm age) and use structural equation modeling for data analysis. Hope to use SMART PLS software. May I know how to enter data into the package? is it need any prior cording? How to treat dichotomous variables?

It is possible to analyse secondary or archival data using the PLS-SEM approach with the support of Smart PLS software as long as it satisfies the measurement theory criteria. Regarding your question "How to analyse", the answer would be the same way that you analyse scale data. I think there is no need for coding data, but the variables need to be measured using one of measurement scales. You should not feed the data such as total assets or liabilities as it is into a model. You can convert these accounting figures into two digits value, for example taking natural logarithm, without harmig its original properties. Dichotomuos variable can be taken as it is as separate latent variables.
