I am doing a mixed method research, the topic is Influence of English teachers' proficiency on students' performance. This method involve likert scale questionnaire and semi structured interview. How do I analyze the data from these two methods, and how do i use the triangulation data?
You need to analyze each set of data according to the research questions you are trying to answer with that data. For example, if you are testing hypotheses in your quantitative data, then you need to operationalize your independent and dependent variables using your Likert-scored variables. And if your are trying to develop themes from your qualitative data, then you need to use a technique such as Thematic Analysis (Braun & Clarke, 2006).
Just as important -- or perhaps more important -- you need to think about how you will integrate the results of the two methods. If you just conduct each study separately, then this will a weak design from a mixed methods perspective. In contrast a strong design would be something like an Explanatory Sequence (QUANT --> qual) where your goal is to use the qualitative findings to help you understand the quantitative results.

Hi Aisyah Radhiah Puteh first of all, you need to figure out which mixed-method design you try to do in your research (exploratory, explanatory or concurrent).
Let's imagine, you choose exploratory mixed research design, you need to conduct the qualitative research initially followed by quantitative research. So, you can use an open-ended or a semi-structured questionnaire for data collection. For the data analysis, you can use thematic analysis, case study or content analysis. If you need to go much deeper, alternatively you can use the Grounded theory.
For the quantitative study, you can use a structured questionnaire and analyse the collected data by using different statistical techniques such as regression analysis, correlation analysis, factor analysis or structural equation modelling via AMOS or PLS.
On the other hand, If you want, you can include qualitative and quantitative questions in the same questionnaire and analyze separately.
Triangulation has got different forms such as data triangulation, theory triangulation, methodological triangulation and instructor triangulation (Denzin, 1978). Mostly, you may have to use methodological triangulation, especially in mixed-method research.
