I would like to do the Rietveld refinement analysis from Topas software for ceramic Sodium Bismuth Titanate. But I didn't get the procedure step. Thank you very much.
I use other softwares to do Rietveld Refinement, but the procedure is very similar to all. I can help you with the steps. Do you need the explanation of the whole procedure?
The procedures are not the same to all samples, and we have to study your case. Rietveld Refinement is a method to determine the crystal structure via powder XRD, and to do this we start with a known structure of Sodium Bismuth Titanite. However, there might be different structures of the same material, like diamond and graphite, or different phases of Iron, etc. And there are few different structures of your compound.
I attached one of known structures for Sodium Bismuth Titanite, from which we can initially do a few steps of refinement to verify if we have similarities with the experimental data. And then we need to make adjustments in the refinement software, that's where Topas and others (like GSAS-II, Fullprof, etc) enter.
Basically, we get an experimental patter, and compare with the known structure, because the software make a calculated pattern from the structure. Then we have to adjust the calculated pattern to match with the experimental data, but you have to know what the differences are by looking at both, and I can't tell anything about your data without seeing it. I could also explain some procedures that I have done to other Refinements, and you can repeat it with yours.
if you publish the experimental measurement (brml, raw or x-y file), I will try to refine it in Topas. Success depends a lot on the quality of the data.
I am writing to inquire if anyone possesses the aforementioned software. I am in need of acquiring it for my use. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much for your kindness answer and willing to help me then Dr @Dalibor Matysek , Dr@Ricardo and Dr. @Sajjad. Really appreciate this. The software belong to our institution' s laboratory PC and all student can use it by booking.
Really need to learn step or maybe the video procedure to do the Rietveld refinement analysis from you.
Hi. One of the easiest ways to do Rietveld refinement with TOPAS is to use Jedit software (https://topas.webspace.durham.ac.uk/jedit_setup/) as an editor to work with Topas input files. In the following links you will find tutorials and videos step by step: https://topas.webspace.durham.ac.uk/topas_user_menu/ https://www.youtube.com/@johnevansstructuralscience4018
