More recently the use of SPAD meter is increased in agricultural research. How far the values of SPAD reading are correlated with nutrient content values in the crop. Can we optimise the nutrient management in agriculture crops with the help of SPAD meter.
SPAD meter is widely used in area of plant research. Chlorophyll content in leaves of a plant can be measured very easily with the help of a SPAD meter. The maintenance and operation techniques of this instrument is very simple. The result (reading) is exposed clearly on its screen just immediately after putting a leaf inside the instrument.
SPAS means soil plant analysis development ,it uses mainly for determining Chlorophyll ratio to total pigments in plant leaves , there is significant positive correlation between SPAD values and plant chlorophyll content.It means increase in chlorophyll content refers to nutrient balance in plant or good nutrient status.

SPAD Meter is used to calculate chlorophyll content. Leaf color symbolizes the available nitrogen for plant, based on this theory according to Chlorophyll content it's link to available nitrogen or requirements can be caluclated.
also it is an idicater for Mg status and availability die to contributing Mg in chlorophyll formation or chemical composition . In directly it refers to iron status in plant.
