How soon is too soon to re-preserve HEK293T cells once you've thawed them?
We are needing to thaw some cells from the -80 to check for protein expression, but the vials we're thawing are the only ones we have of these particular cells, so they must be re-preserved as well.
Is it a bad idea to thaw them, for example, on a Monday into flasks, the a few days later spit them into the containers I'll be harvesting them from for whole cell extract, and re-preserve them at the same time?
Normally that's not how we operate but otherwise this thing will eat into Spring Break, which isn't an issue for me, but the undergrad I'm teaching will miss out.
Just curious about if it's a meh, bad, or really bad idea.
Thanks!
