So many factors accelerated the degradation of pesticides molecules in soil viz., soil pH, moisture content, texture, organic content, temperature, micro-organism, etc.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to say few words regarding the pesticides breakdown, soil properties relation to pesticides spreading etc. This is a very nice question. When we apply pesticides, majority of the pesticides are taken place into the soil. Therefore, pesticides are breaking down through different chemical properties of soil and other environmental factors like temperature, rainfall, humidity etc. However, indeed soil properties like soil texture, soil moisture , presence of soil micro organism in the soil etc. plays a significant role. Modern pesticides are water soluble, so if the soil moisture is high, then pesticides spread very quickly. The main soil properties of soil, which mostly affect the pesticide dispersion is soil texture and soil moistures. Thanks a lot for your nice questions.
The biotic components of the soil are the major contributors in spreading the pesticides either by degrading or by making some complex compound. Furthermore, each of the abiotic components of the soil also plays an important role in spreading the pesticide through the soil pore.
