When we prepare MgAl LDHs by hydrotherrmal mrthide we add urea
I don't know the answer but it may be associated with the formation of urea complexes
Urea, which is added in the hydrothermal synthesis of LDH, is hydrolyzed under hydrothermal conditions. As a result, the pH of the solution increases to about 10. As the pH rises, LDH is formed when metal hydroxides precipitate.
