in my model there is some wires body that i try to change the length and width through the study by scripting to illustrate the effect of some parameters,
my problem is that i don't know the exact coordinate of the edges to make set to assign the material by findAt() . i heard something about getclose() but there's no good information in documents.
i was wondering if anyone could help and some advise for this issue.

it's getClosest() and not getclose()
check out abaqus scripting reference manual->basic geometry commands->edge array->getClosest()
There's sufficient information over there regardign how to use this command and what will be the return obect

yes you right , someone suggested me that command , that was misunderstanding the pronunciation of getclosest .
