The risk of bias of individual studies is assessed by different check lists such as the National Institutes of Health checklist for observational, cohort and cross-sectional studies (available from: https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health-topics/study-quality-assessment-tools) or New Castle Ottawa scale (NOS) for case control studies (http://www.ohri.ca/programs/clinical_epidemiology/ oxford.asp)
As per PRISMA guidelines, risk of Bias across studies can be assessed by specifying any assessment of risk of bias that may affect the cumulative evidence (e.g., publication bias, selective reporting within studies). Statistician's help is required to check the Publication bias (plotting funnel plot or by Egger's test).
