Well, compression require some information loss. If you have a high res image but is looking for very big features, compression does not reduce the information you want though.

So there is a struggle between the information image has and what you need.

Dear you need to do image compression just if you have a large storage image or you need to transfer your image and you can do compression to TIFF, PNG ,JPG or other formats
