Dear researchers,

I am looking for approaches to covalently bond amine-functionalized hexagonal boron nitride nanosheets with graphene oxide. Commonly, graphene oxide has several carboxylic acid groups at the edges and these groups can be further connected to other amine compounds through amidation processes. However, these carboxylic groups of graphene are weakly reactive, thus, current advances propose to transform carboxylic into more reactive acyl chloride. My question is:

Whether the amine group in amine-functionalized hexagonal boron nitride nanosheets can react directly to carboxylic acid/acyl chloride in graphene oxide or not?

Thank you very much!

Best Regards,

Sang Pham.
