I am wondering how generally a parameter analyzer work ? Imagine a 2 probe vertical measurement, and I will apply 0 to -3v with 20mV increment. Imagine top contact is SMU1 one where I applied bias and bottom is SMU2 where I put ground mode or common mode.
So which probe will apply voltage with 20mV increment and which probe will read current ?

You basically can see that current sense is performed in the "HI" (red) probe and the voltage increment is also implemented there.
