The laser welding of responsible products (shipbuilding, aerospace, nuclear industry, automobile industry, equipment for oil and gas industry, etc.) is associated with high requirements to the quality of the weld. The creation of such technology is quite a difficult task, which requires study of a large number of welds. How many in your practice - tens or hundreds? Is it possible to reduce the quantity of welds?

If you have a good experience of laser welding and know the appropriate parameter windows for laser, you can reduce the number of the welds noticeably to get a high quality weld. But if you don't know the process well, you may just waist a lot of time and energy...

Laser welding depends upon the thickness, nature of welding location spot like corner, butt or lap and other etc. It's too complex to say how long to work for getting a good joint strength. Better work collaboratively with a laser industry for the quick result.
Very experienced specialists (from IPG and shipbuilding industry) told me that it need nearly one hundred welds (in average) and up to year (in maximum) to create a high quality laser welding technology for responsible products (without single pores in weld). Could you tell about your own experience in designing of high quality laser welding technology ? How many welds it need in your own practice?
