Anoop Kumar Srivastava I agree.There is no single limited amount of time to be taken for the process of converting ammonium into nitrates unless all other dependent factors such as soil type, environmental factors such as temperature, and rainfall are kept constant/controlled. Another important factor is the concentration of microbes such as Nitrobacter which can accelerate the process.
This interaction depends on various factors such as temperature, moisture, soil pores, the population of microorganisms, etc. Due to the complexity of the soil, we can not estimate the exact time.
