Molecular stress? Does it mean free radical? Does it have cellular responses to nano-/micro-scale cell membrane roughness induced aging by hemolytic cleavage of O-O bond?
Molecular stress is indeed found to be very high in patients with periodontitis and diabetes. The release of reactive oxygen species in excess causes many detrimental effects on the tissues and it has been proved that both periodontitis and diabetes are interlinked. Perhaps antioxidants could play an important role as host modulating agents in preventing the catastrophic events.
