How much emphasis be laid on Theories of creativity and how much on Application and development of creative solutions (innovation) ?
in my opinion not more than 30% emphasis on theories, 70% emphasis on the applied creativity solutions . What is your expert opinion.?

I used to teach a course on creativity...and this is why I say:
theories on creativity abound but those who write about creativity have nothing to show for their knowledge of the process(es) and theories of creativity. Creativity is a lot harder and time-consuming, and is often a long lonely journey on a winding road, with innumerable barriers, pit-holes; it is one of falling down, and picking up oneself many times, and continuing.
I prefer creativity that lead to practical, useful solutions, rather than to esoteric theories based on small samples selected from a small population in a certain country or perhaps in few countries, at a particular time period
I agree, why? Because research on creativity has become out of fashion, it used to be a big thing in the 60s and 70s. Today, it is all about learning (psychological approach). Hope it helps. Jens
