I think that the method of DNA extraction will be a key-factor to determine what are the amount of DNA obtained from the egg!

I'm not sure exactly, but I do know a few people who use a chelex-based DNA extraction method that occurs all in one container (as opposed to methods where you're constantly rinsing through filters). That may be your best bet.

In my opinion you should assess the amount of DNA with nanodrop, and you don't need to know about DNA amount in paper.

I do not have data about amount of DNA in the Schistosoma egg. But, was related by Ana Liza Gomes et al. 2006 that the genome of the S. mansoni worm weighs 580fg.

The amount of DNA you get depends on the extraction method and the amount of eggs you have (I'm assuming that's what you want)

I use the CTAB method, but there are others you can use.

I don't advise using an extraction method that uses Filtering Columns, since they waste a lot of the DNA.

After extracting the DNA use nanodrop to assess the amount of DNA and based on the values make your dilutions
