The following are from Taylor, S. R. and McClennan, S. M., 1985. The Continental Crust: its Composition and Evolution. Blackwell Scientific Publications, Oxford.
1. Cs=15 mg/kg (Post-Archean average Australian shale; average of 23 post-Archean shales from Australia.)
2. Cs=5mg/kg (European shale composite; composite of numerous European shales.)
Interestingly, Taylor and McLennan do not present a Cs concentration for NASC.
Thank you, Andrew. That Taylor and McLennan reported only 5 mg/kg Cs for the European shale composite makes the 5.2 mg/kg value for the NASC (Gromet et al., 1984) look more reasonable than I had thought. I wonder why you have so much more Cs down under? --JMW
