We used short inventory: a dozen items and two scales. Further, we decided to recalculate them by using EFA. So we found that PA, Hull, BIC, MAP, all recommend one factor (you know, in common situation they never agree each other). We could not replicate these two scales, but we can easily extract a three factor structure with one scale survived. We can even improve this solution by removing some items (possible doublets or to decrease residuals). Inter-factor correlations will be 0.699 and 0.760. How acceptable will consider such a new version of the inventory as a one scale with three subscales?
