I want to date some clades found from a phylogenetic analysis of a complex species. The calibration point is on the stem, between my complex species and a sister genera. After using some sister genera and a fossil register to construct a dating tree... I have de uncertainty... if Should I necessarily include several sister species of my complex species in the analysis? O if including more sequences to my crown group could let me get some noise in the resulting tree?
