If you near the speed of light and then return to the system you left, the effect on you will be a bit like time travel into the future. But, at least from our feeble knowledge at this time, it would be a one way trip. Maybe that will prove to be the rule. However, crazy seeming things can happen at the quantum level.

Mainstream physicists believe in time travel. The root of this belief goes back to the idea of length contraction by Lorentz and FitzGerald. Einstein accepted the concept and added time dilation, and the rest is history.
I have re-examined the reason behind Lorentz relativistic physics. The clear conclusion is that length contraction and time dilation was based on partial examination of M&M experiment. Full examination in fact rejects any relativistic idea.

Does tinkering with time, e.g., through sleep privation, count as "negative time travel"?
I believe it is time, as it were, to re-think Time. For example, is it a single thing or can it be explained in a localised way. I have presented this example before, but perceptually we see time as moving slower and faster depending on the situation or circumstance. Such a perception, common to us all, may in fact be an actual phenomenon rather than perceptual. If I am alone, my perception of time becomes one of infinite as I may have little to connect time with, but once connected to something or someone else, it can move faster. Connecting to another event, a person, or thing, or perhaps unconnected action creates a different time value that can speed up that connection. It may in fact be caught up in multiple streams that we call time, but in fact is simply one event caught up in another within an independent force or forces.
Is there then Time Travel?-if time is not this single thing, that is connected to other objects, or simply a form of measurement between objects, therefore an illusion, but is in fact either a force connected to events, a plane displaced by events, or something entirely flexible or mutable, then yes?
Dennis, is it tinkering or what I've averred? That each localised situation has a time condition (sorry, but for the sake of clarity I'm having to introduce words to cover the concepts I'm aiming for) that is altered by other situations or events. So the condition of effected sleep becomes another one when situations or conditions change.
I think 22 or 24 but now a few of them are traveling so I don't know exact result.
