There is still disparity in the number of days the antibodies to SARS-CoV 2 infection can stay in the affected patients after recovery. But research and clinical reports have show that there is significant decline in antibodies signature of patients which increases chances of reinfection.
In the SIREN study, the Health Care Workers with COVID-19 infection in the past had very low rate of reinfection at about a median period of 7 months. This indicated that COVID-19 reinfection is rare at 7 months post-COVID-19 (155 reinfections detected in the cohort of 8278 participants with evidence of past COVID-19) i.e. 1.87%.
longer follow up of this cohort may indicate much longer immunity after COVID-19 infection.
