An acceptor-acceptor polymeric electrode material is showing lesser charging time in same current density at all potential ranges than discharging time. As I know this may be due to some irrevesible reaction, can anyone provide some reference regarding the same. Thank You.
Normally this difference can be attributed to some form of corrosion. In other words; some material (normally assumed to be otherwise inert to the intended reaction is participating in the reaction. This normally has a couple of signature characteristics: 1) It happens in a specific polarization region and 2) the total electrode weight will change with the completion of the reaction. In other words a portion of the Re-Dox reaction is irreversible and leaves structural changes to the electrode as a tell tail. Are you seeing an overall change in either charge or discharge behavior with subsequent cycles?
