bcsp31 gene has been targeted for detection of Brucella from number of clinical materials and this gene has been found to be specific for Brucella. It has been used extensively as a target for Brucella diagnosis in both human and animals. A number of real-time PCR has been reported

There has been report of lack of expression of bscp31 in Brucella ovis.

Can anyone provide me information on how many copies of bcsp31 gene is present in Brucella genome. Can the bcsp-31 gene based real-time PCR be used for determination of Brucella genome copies/ml?

Thanking you in advance
