m-Learning is a form of e-Learning and it refers to mobile learning, which means delivering content using mobile devices, usually smartphones. Many companies have geared towards mLearning since it is convenient for employee training, as most of the employees own and are familiar with smartphone use.
AI's application in e-Learning is geared towards development of automated tutors and teaching agents that can complement and help instructors in the teaching process by answering learners' questions, grading, adaptive testing etc...
Deploying AI-based software components in a mobile Learning context is possible and several companies and universities are looking into deploying such systems, usually in the form of intelligent chatbots. For example in 2017 Georgia State University, launched such a chatbot, called "virtual campus coach” that handles student queries related to course enrollment. Private education efforts, like Udacity etc... are following this direction too.
