If I were to have a system with the following:
1. environmental stimulus driving c-fos expression
2. c-fos promoter driving tTa
3. tTA binding to the TRE promoter (in the absence of doxycycline) to drive CRE Recombinase expression
4. CRE Recombinase acting on a floxed gene
How long should it take from the environmental stimulus to the end result (the floxed gene is deleted)? I imagine it should be on the matter of hours, as you have to wait for tTA expression, CRE Recombinase expression, and CRE Recombinase interacting with the floxed gene; but I'm having trouble finding any kind of reference or details (6 hours? 24 hours?) Thanks!
